deluxvivens:

“Sometimes distrust is so great that it doesn’t matter how obviously factual the statement is, or any other reality of the situation, because extreme distrust creates protective layers that are more concerned with self-preservation than reality-testing.”

Seriously? This was about people not being able to deal with factual statements because of their distrust and “protective layers” for “self preservation”?

I’m reblogging b/c I need for folks to see how this is being reframed as something that is wrong with the people who got into it with this person.

“So I see where the misunderstanding came from. It was just a bit frustrating is all.”

No you dont and this is patronizing as fuck.

I recognize that it was wrong of me to jump into the conversation like that, I was called out on it and removed myself from the thread. The only reason I jumped in in the first place is because fromonesurvivortoanother isn’t exactly a complete stranger to me, we’ve talked about shit before so I felt comfortable discussing that one particular aspect of her comment. It exploded from there into me jumping into a discussion about WoC issues, when I specifically stated I wasn’t commenting on that. I wasn’t trying to jump into any discussion about issues about WoC and feminism. I was specifically talking to fromonesurvivortoanother about what she said about iron and things being scientifically proven. My comments above are about other people piling on me for doing that.

[edit: I removed the original comments in question, for being patronizing. I’m sorry I wrote that, it was really effed up and wrong of me.]
