Thanks. I completely understand why it happened; there are a lot of people who are just SO GOSH DARN RATIONALLLLL with their science talk, while misapplying science to bludgeon people over the head. These types don’t recognize that while the scientific method itself is a great tool, the scientific body of knowledge is imperfect and incomplete, and that the cultural institution of science is deeply white supremacist, sexist, and a host of other things.
It angers me that so many scientifically-minded people and atheists resort to intellectual laziness, because the end result is that a lot of people go into knee-jerk defensive mode whenever science is brought up, and rightfully so. It’s just sad that the lack of nuance in discussion means a lot of people miss out on a useful tool for awareness and happy living.
